Jeg fraråder at man bruger automatix.
Det er heller ikke særlig svært i Feisty at få diverse ting i forhold til andre Ubuntu releases.
1. Its dependence on its own repository. Automatix goes down, the application itself fails. It would seem prudent for A-X to refer back to the Official repositiories as opposed to holding up its own.
2. Number 1 leads into number 2, the fact that indeed A-X does screw around with your sources.list , something that breaks the concept of a functioning system in some or many cases.
3. Number 2 leads into number 3, Bleeder aka Automatix providing bleeding edge packages. If you are using bleeder and then use Synaptic, it will fuxor synaptic up. Bad enough to break your system.
4. Number 3 leads into number 4, Bleeder provides experimental packages, packages by all intents that could likely break your system even more.
Der har været flere tilfælde hvor Automatix serveren er gået ned og hvor flere bruger af automatix vil "fratage" brugeren i at få sine pakker, også dem der er i det "official" sourcelist, da automatix går ind og bruger sine egen.
Der vil snart komme en "statement" fra Ubuntuforums.org at vi stopper i at supporte Automatix da det også er ubuntu officielle holdning.
Den samme meldning vil komme fra UDSF (Ubuntu Document storage facility).
Eftersom Feisty gøre det meret nemmere at få de pakker for at multimedia op at kører kan det stærkt anbefaldes at man bruger add/remove og/eller synaptic.
