Wireless, wireless, wireless....
Hej.
Endnu en totalt grønskolling henvender sig pga det wireless....
Jeg har som alle andre jo også siger, søgt og søgt og prøvet og prøvet. Men jeg er helt på bar bund stadigvæk.
Det korte af det lange, så aner ubuntu slet ikke maskinen har wireless. Jeg kørte den der iw config jeg så en anden blev bedt om og den siger der intet trådløst er...

Som sagt, så er jeg totalt rookie. Men det jeg får ud af alt det, er at det lader til fejlen ligger et helt andet sted... Det forklarer nok også hvorfor de guider jeg har forsøgt at få til at afhjælpe problemet har været nyttesløse. F.eks. Så er der et tomt felt i "hardware drivers"... Der står intet overhovedet. Som om jeg ingen drivere har whatsoever...?Og "system->preferences->hardware information" Gik jeg i stå ved, da "hardware information" slet ikke eksisterer. Så er den jo lidt svær at åbne....? Og jeg kan ikke finde den andre steder... Ud over det, så har jeg en wireless manager til at koble på og af tilgængelige netværk, men der er intet..Jeg har en manuel knap på maskinen til wireless. Den var tændt under installationen og også da jeg lukkede vista ned. Og der er intet i vejen der. Ellers, så har jeg ingen problem med at losse stikket i. Der virker nettet. Og resten af funktionerne på maskinene lader til at virke fint.
Det skal lige siges jeg kører med engelsk som sprog ( DK layout på key...)...

Som sagt, så er jeg totalt rookie. Men det jeg får ud af alt det, er at det lader til fejlen ligger et helt andet sted... Det forklarer nok også hvorfor de guider jeg har forsøgt at få til at afhjælpe problemet har været nyttesløse. F.eks. Så er der et tomt felt i "hardware drivers"... Der står intet overhovedet. Som om jeg ingen drivere har whatsoever...?Og "system->preferences->hardware information" Gik jeg i stå ved, da "hardware information" slet ikke eksisterer. Så er den jo lidt svær at åbne....? Og jeg kan ikke finde den andre steder... Ud over det, så har jeg en wireless manager til at koble på og af tilgængelige netværk, men der er intet..Jeg har en manuel knap på maskinen til wireless. Den var tændt under installationen og også da jeg lukkede vista ned. Og der er intet i vejen der. Ellers, så har jeg ingen problem med at losse stikket i. Der virker nettet. Og resten af funktionerne på maskinene lader til at virke fint.
Det skal lige siges jeg kører med engelsk som sprog ( DK layout på key...)...
Nå, men jeg håber nogle kan fortælle mig hva jeg stiller op! For jeg aner ikke hvad jeg skal stille op..

du kan da umuligt være "en totalt grønskolling" når du selv har fundet på at paste de kommandoer, men hvis du evt en anden gang for brug
for det, kan du bruge http://pastebin.com/ til at gemme terminaludskriftet på og derefter paste den ene linie med http. addressen herinde.
ps: det gør tråden mere overskuelig

Betyder som der står, at der ikke er fundet nogen wireless extensions på dit netkort eth0. Det betyder så igen at det første du skal gøre at installere den rigtige driver. Du skal først og fremmest finde ud af, hvilket netkort du bruger og så se om der skrevet en linux-driver til det. Hvis ikke, så kan du bruge ndiswrapper til at installere en windows-driver - her skal du bruge de to windows-driver-filer *.inf og *.sys.
Så skulle der der være mulighed for at du kan blive trådløs.

jeg tror det er fordi filerne ikke ligger hvor han skriver de ligger
jeg har prøvet at lede efter filerne men der er en del at vælge imellem
så jeg kan ikke gennemskue hvilke filer jeg skal bruge

Kan du ikke prøve at køre lspci på din eee.
Så vidt jeg lige kan huske er der tre madwifi versioner, der understøtter hele serier af kort + en masse der kun understøtter enkelte chipsets.
Hvis du er heldig er dit kort understøttet af en af de store versioner så du ikke skal til at lede madwifi siden igennem efter en specifik driver.

Andet end jeg kan "fatte det store billede" i dem. Men jeg er ikke i stand til at udrette noget med min egen "forstand".. Endnu! Jeg er jo som de fleste andre totalt indoktrineret i windows..

Så det kom jeg ikke særligt langt med, desværre. Er der noget jeg skulle have gjort på forhånd?
Næste frsøg er nu at hoppe over i vista og se om jeg kan grave en win driver frem. Jeg ved ikke hvorfor, men jeg lader til ikke at finde det jeg leder efter nu jeg er i ubuntu...??? Det forstår jeg ikke rigtigt selv. Zepto's driver side kan jeg ik komme ind i og en søgen giver mig sq lidt "information overload"... Det virker lige totalt uoverskueligt, selvom det burde være en helt banal opgave...

Nå, jeg har downloaded win driveren til Wireless og derefter gravet den frem i mit eget system win32/drivers.. For at verificere det er den samme. Det er det... MEN.. Jeg kan ikke finde ud af at bruge ndiswrapper, da jeg kun finder en .sys fil.. Og da programmet som det første skal have .inf .. Jah... Så er jeg igen kørt fast ligesom det første forsøg...
Desuden så har jeg fundet frem til denne her: madwifi-0.9.4.tar.bz2 .. Jeg synes at kunne forstå at dette er en løsning.. Men.. SOm nybegynder i linux, så kan jeg ik engang finde ud af hvad pokker jeg stiller op med den pakke.. Jeg har hentet den.. Men det er osse alt. Jeg ved ikke hvordan jeg egentlig "får den i brug"... ???
Alt i alt så løber jeg panden mod muren lidt.. Fejlfinding er godt nok svært i et system man slet ikke kender.. Og give tabt og vende tilbage til MS vil jeg meget nødigt.. Så jeg håber jeg ved jeres hjælp finder ud af dette...

Hvis du er heldig er dit kort understøttet af en af de store versioner så du ikke skal til at lede madwifi siden igennem efter en specifik driver.

FRANK. Jeg er godt nok helt ny bruger herinde og ifølge den danske "code of conduct" er det normen at gå lidt på "listesko"....Men du spammer mit indlæg. Undskyldningen er accepteret. Jeg synes bare det er vigtigt folk respekterer hinandens "arbejde" i at søge hjælp og hjælper til med at finde løsninger også ved at at undlade at skrive.hvis man intet har at komme med der har relevans til den aktuelle tråd.
Ellers så ender det som her... Tråden er kørt af sporet og lader til at være afgået ved døden.og jeg mangler stadig hjælp..
