Hej folkens

Jeg opgradererede for nylig den noget forældet Debian kernel 2.6.26 til 2.6.34-5 og løb ind i at den nye kernel ikke altid får monteret de to USB-harddiske jeg har tilsluttet. Den løsning jeg havde tænkt på at lave er et script i /usr/bin/local som tjekker om de blev monteret under opstarten, og hvis ikke, montere dem. Scriptet ville jeg så køre fra roots crontab, men det ser ud til at jeg er kørt fast med crontab. Linien er:

Den sidste del af linien er for at få uddata skrevet i filen test, men filen bliver ikke oprettet, så det virker heller ikke (Kommandoen virker heller uden den sidste del).

Udover det har jeg defineret SHELL=/bin/sh og PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin. Men som sagt virker det ikke, og hvis jeg læser syslog'en rigtigt er det fordi crontab ikke kører scriptet.

(Ingen point til ham eller hende der gætter hvad jeg har på de to diske ;-))

Jeg bruger en lignende if-kommando i backup-scriptet, det var derfor jeg valgte denne her løsning, men jeg er åben overfor andre forslag der resultere i at de to diske bliver monteret i deres respektive mapper i /media.

Selvom jeg ikke bruger Ubuntu håber jeg at Debian er tæt nok på til i vil hjælpe, for det her forum er langt bedre end nogle af de andre jeg har skrevet i. Både omgangstonen og stemningen er meget behagelig her.

Har du allerede forsøgt dig med at bruge /etc/fstab?

Tak for svaret, og det kan du tro.

De diske jeg har sat til computeren har alle en linie, for den ene af USB-harddiskene ser den sådan her ud:

I kernel 2.6.26 virkede det altid, men jeg skal ikke kunne udelukke at proceduren omkring fstab kan være blevet ændret med den nyere kernel 2.6.32-5, som jeg køre med nu. Så vidt jeg ved burde problemet være at den nye kernel starter Linux i parallel, hvor at den gamle var noget langsommere fordi den startede én ting af gangen. Men det er jeg ikke sikker på, det var noget jeg læste mens jeg undersøgte problemet.

Jeg oplevede selv nogle mount problemer med Ubuntu jeg tror problemet skete med en kerne baseret på 2.6.31, der var det med en intern ext4 sata disk. Problemet gik så væk med en sener kerne opdatering, så jeg fandt desvære ikke et workaround der kan bruges her.
Får du nogen start op fejl omkring mount af disken?

Den sidste linje i outputtet er systemet der monterer det cd-image der ligger på den ene USB-harddisk, så jeg ville tro at den del hvor den fejler kommer lige bagefter. Jeg har prøvet at lede efter noget i sysloggen, men det ser ud til at den kun skriver om de to harddiske hvis det lykkedes dem at blive monteret.

Da jeg opdagede fejlen tænkte jeg egentlig bare at jeg ville vente og se hvad der skete når den nye Debian kommer ud om en måned eller to. Desværre ser det ud til at den stabile version kommer til at køre med den kernel jeg bruger nu, det er derfor jeg havde håbet på at få det til at virke.

Hmm det burde vel ikke kunne lade sig gøre at mounte en cd fra disken Hvis ikke selve disken er mounted. Prøv at liste alle dine mounts og se om disken allerede er mounted et andet sted.

Nej, det har du selvfølgelig ret i. Det havde jeg slet ikke tænkt på...

Efter at have siddet og kigget rundt nogle gange tror jeg at det er noget med NTFS-modulet der ikke fungere så godt, så jeg lader det bare være, og når Debian så udgiver den nye stabile til jul, så formatere jeg og installere en ren udgave.
