You can just do

Kode: Vælg alt

sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop

This will be a pretty large install - between 0.5 GB and 1 GB.
What's more, it will install all the standard programs from the kubuntu desktop AND from the ubuntu desktop. For that reason it won't look exactly like kubuntu installed from scratch, more like kubuntu with all the ubuntu default programs added. I think...

After you have installed the kubuntu-desktop package you should be able to choose the session you want to log into in the login-menu. If you have activated auto-logon you can get to it by logging out (not turning off). When you click the user you want to log in as, you should be able to se the choices for session on the bottom-bar.
Good luck.

I would prefer you did a clean install of Kubuntu instead of just installing the KDE environment through the terminal.

@zob

"Installs" like the one you propose has a tendency of NOT working the same way a clean install does. I've tried that install method before on my system and the result was disappointing. KDE found no sound card that way and the proprietary driver fails more often than not. Even the fact that you already have the GNOME base and a full Ubuntu install on the hard drive doesn't make for a full KDE system. You need to install all the KDE apps. you want afterwards, more than you would have to on a clean KDE installation. So my advice will be to make a clean install. This will give you the best result.

Is there a way to move a program from windows to Ubuntu on a dual OS? My computer has dual operating systems, and im trying to pretty much stop using windows and phase myself into only use Ubuntu. so i was wondering if there is a way to transfer a program or some files or whatever over from windows to my ubuntu OS without having to completely redownload them or whatever.

Windows and Ubuntu are 2 very different operating system (OS). You can't install and run Windows application on Ubuntu and vice versa.

Migrating to another OS also means that you will need to use other applications. Applications from Microsoft does not exist in an version for Linux based operating systems.
There are more than 33.000+ free application.

If you write the name of the Windows applications you use - we can find native applications on Ubuntu doing the same job.
