Ville det ikke i virkeligheden være enklest bare at installere Ubuntu som eneste system med det samme? Jeg mener, hvis du er helt sikker på at jeg stadig vil kunne gå tilbage og installere Windows 10 igen fra USB'en hvis jeg nu alligevel ikke kan få Ubuntu til at virke ordentligt. (Jeg bliver bare så nervøs ved tanken om at der jo altid kan gå noget galt, og tænk hvis der nu var et eller andet galt med USB'en jeg lavede ...).

Jeg er for øvrigt blevet opmærksom på en anden ting fra den anden tråd, hvor han skriver:

Hvordan vil jeg under installationen kunne se om dette bliver et problem? Jeg har tænkt at jeg netop ville installere OS og diverse programmer på SSD'en på 512 GB og bruge disken på 1 TB til data. Men siger manden ikke at grub vil installere på sda, og at SSD'en er sdb? Systemet skulle gerne ende med at køre pænt tjept, så jeg ville være ked af hvis jeg ikke kan installere på SSD'en.

Nej, det tænkte jeg også. Faktisk er det ikke en gang under opstarten at jeg skal trykke på den, men fra slukket tilstand! Det er sådan en lille knap hvor man skal bruge spidsen af en papirclips. Den sidder i venstre side lige ved siden af audiostikket.

Ja, men dét jeg mener med langsom opstart, er at den er ekstremt lang tid om at starte op, og dvd'en skiftevis kører og ikke kører (så vidt jeg kan høre) - jeg får indtryk af at den ligesom står og kæmper lidt med at kommer over et eller andet punkt flere gange i processen. Og der kommer jo også stadig fejlmeddelelser undervejs (den oprindelige som du tolkede for mig). Og hvad med de der "warnings" som kommer når jeg kører sudo gdisk -l /dev/sda og sudo gdisk -l /dev/sdb (dét med "partition table overlaps")? Jeg får fornemmelsen af at det alt sammen viser at der stadig er noget galt. Det var også derfor jeg blev så overrasket da du skrev at jeg i princippet skulle kunne installere nu ...

Dét med nomodeset forstår jeg ikke umiddelbart så meget af ... er det noget jeg skal prøve at sætte mig ind i nu, eller skal vi vente og se om det bliver nødvendigt? Kan ikke lige regne ud på hvilket trin i processen det i givet fald skal afprøves, og om det i det hele taget er noget jeg bør prøve.

Hvor GRUB installeres har næsten igen betydning, det er nærmest kun hvis du på et tidspunkt for lyst til at udskifte HDD'en men ikke SSD'en (Ubuntu ville ikke længere starte), og det finder der også løsninger på som du kan udføre hvis det bliver relevant på et tidspunkt.

Netværks porten i din maskine er rigtig nok kompakt, men hvis du følger vejledningen på side 6 i din manual burde du kunne indsætte et normalt netværks kabel.

Der er meget få ting du kan gøre ved en computer som kan få den i en tilstand du ikke kan komme ud af ved at gen installere operativ systemet, så bare tag den med ro og eksperimenter lidt nå du jo ikke har nogle vigtige filer på systemet :)
Der er nogle få eksempler på nogle tidlige maskiner med UEFI hvor man helt kunne fjerne mulighed for at starte systemet (selv i dette tilfælde ville det kunne løses af producenten), men det virker ikke til at din maskine har denne fejl.

Jo, det nemmeste ville være bare at installere Ubuntu og vælge at den skal overtage hele systemet. Hvis du vil installere det på SSD'en og fabrikanten har valgt at installere den som den sekundære disk, kan det dog være du skal vælge at lave en manuel opsætning af partitionerne under installationen (det vælg der heder "noget andet").
Selv hvis du ikke har oprettet gendannelses USB'en korrekt eller mister den kan man i dag hente Windows installations disken fra Microsoft som ISO og så installere fra bunden (lisens nøgnen er enkodet i UEFI så aktivering håndteres automatisk).

Så tror jeg fint du kan efterlade fast book aktiveret, så starter computeren også hurtigere :) Jeg har selv fast book atkiveret på mine maskiner og har ikke haft problmer, men jeg har så heller ikke særlig mange bærbar.

Det kan også være jeg bare er blevet lidt forviret efterhånden. Der er vist kun 1 grafikkort og det er et Nvidia Geforce. Noget kraftig hvis ikke du spiller skyde spil på den :)
Jeg er så temmelig sikker på guiden med NoModeSet ville gøre dig i stand til at starte og installere 17.04, men lad os bare holde os til 16.04 og se om vi kan få Wifi til at virke efter installationen, så kan vi evenuelt prøve NoModeSet+17.04 bagefter hvis det ikke lykkeds.
Du kan lige køre følgende kommando, så kan vi være helt sikkere på din grafikkorts opsætning:

Jeg tror ikke det er nødvendigt at ændre på AHCI indstillingerne for at starte Windows, men hvis ikke den starter så kan du lige prøve at skifte det tilbage. UEFI/BIOS opdateringen, retter 2 sikkerheds huller og en fejl der kunne se ud til at have med opladeren at gøre. Resten tror jeg ikke bliver relevant for dig. Men så kan du selv vurdere om du har løst til at opdatere UEFI eller ej.

Mht til at få systemet installeret på SSD frem for HDD så prøv i første omgang blot at installere Ubuntu på normal vis, så ser vi bagefter på om den blev installeret på den rigtige af de 2 diske eller om du skal lave en nye installation hvor vi vejleder dit til opsætningen af partitionerne.

Ja, grafikkortet er rigelig kraftigt, men det fulgte med når jeg ville have i7 og 16 GB RAM og en hurtig harddisk ... sådan er det vel med bærbare, som man jo ikke selv sammensætter.

Altså, hvis du mener det er bedre at prøve 17.04 med NoModeSet først, kan vi også gøre dét. Jeg har bare lidt svært ved at forstå vejledningen ... men tror du det ville give et bedre resultat? For så er det da dér vi skal begynde.

Men er der mere jeg skal teste lige nu, mens live-systemet kører? For ellers vil jeg (prøve at) boote Windows nu for at opdatere UEFI og slå Fast Startup fra.

dmsg beskeden ser ud til at linux starter i loebet af ca. 2 minutter, der er ca 30 sekunder hvor den venter paa data fra dvden, og jeg vil tro de oevrige 3-4 minutter er det samme, foer og efter opstarten af Linux. 5-6 minutter viker meget normalt for at koere et system fra en DVD, det at dvden starter og stopper sker i takt med at den behanlder data og henter yderligere data og er en af grundende til at det er saa langsomt at koere et system fra en dvd.

Som sagt syndes jeg vil skal proeve 16.04 foerst. Det virker til at det er den du bliver gladest for og som er mindst besvaerlig at installere for dig.

dmsg indiker ogsaa igen at du har 2 grafikkort, din lspci viser godt nok kun et intel grafikkort men Lenovos side siger at der er et Geforce 1050 i din maskine saa jeg tror du har faaet dig en maskine med to grafikkort.

Hvis du skulle teste noget yderligere ville det vaere om wifi virker i 17.04, du skriver at du har svaert ved at forstaa nomodeset guiden, men hvis ikke du skriver hvad det er du gaaer i staa paa saa kan jeg ikke hjaelpe saa meget mere end at gentage hele guiden som den er nu. For at teste WIfi behoeves du kun udfoere det der staaer op til det 2. billede i guiden. Billede

Godt, men så prøver jeg at installere 16.04.2 LTS - og så kan jeg jo lige så godt vente med at teste om wifi virker i 17.04, til hvis det bliver nødvendigt. Ja, du har ret, jeg er selvfølgelig nødt til at skrive hvad det er jeg ikke forstår i nomodeset-guiden, hvis du skal kunne hjælpe mig. Men det kan vi lige så godt gemme nu og se om det bliver nødvendigt, ikke? Jeg mener, hvis jeg ikke skal bruge det i forbindelse med 16.04.2 LTS (og det var vist bl.a. dét jeg ikke forstod - altså hvad det helt præcis skulle bruges til).

Okay! Jamen så ved jeg det. Sjovt at sælgeren slet ikke nævnte det. Men så håber jeg at 16.04.2 LTS er ligeglad ...

Snak nok ... jeg må hellere kaste mig ud i det (større kylling skal man lede længe efter, tror jeg - hver gang jeg skal i gang med en ny proces, skal jeg lige tage en dyb indånding og tænke det hele igennem én gang til ... men det hjælper helt klart rigtig meget at du har skrevet at det ikke så nemt kan gå uopretteligt galt ;-) ).

Sælger nævner nok kun det kraftige grafikkort, det andet ses som en strømbesparende funktion. Men Linux driverne er desværre stadig ikke helt på plads til automatisk at kunne skiftet mellem flere grafikkort uden problemer.

Efter du har installeret systemet, så kør lige opdaterings håndteringen og se om netværket så virker. Hvis det stadig ikke virker efter en genstart så giv lige info fra denne kommando:

Kode: Vælg alt

dpkg --list | grep linux
dmsg | grep error
