How can I remove the smart virus eliminator virus from my laptop computer{OS- Windows Vista]? I have got this smart virus eliminator virus which keeps popping up like every minute telling me that my pc is infected and then displays some files that don't even exist on my computer. I can not access the internet because whenever I try opening the browser, it comes on for about 3 seconds and then goes off and when it comes on it only displays the page I am supposed to use for purchasing its full version.

Sorry to hear about your problem. But unfortunately we can't help you. This is a forum dedicated to the Ubuntu OS, so you should try to find a Windows-forum instead. And as we are using Ubuntu we don't have any experience as to getting and removing vira.

You have MS windows installed on your computer, and this forum deals with Ubuntu related questions only. You're better off asking your Windows questions in a Windows forum, or install Ubuntu and stop worrying too much about AV software

You need to download hijackthis and run it on your computer, prefably in safe mode and as an admin. You might need some help using hijackthis so look up a proper forum for that. Also running ccleaner to remove junk and errors in your registry. Then update your Windows and software, you can use filehipho to find updates for your Installed software. If you don't have any AntiVirus you should finish by installing AVG and doing a full system scan.
And lastly, you woudn't be having theas sort of issues If you where running ubuntu
