Det er alt for sært det her... Jeg kan ikke komme ind i safe mode - failsafex, den siger:

du skal ikke starte x, pointen med at starte i gendannelses tilstand var ikke at have x kørende (hvilket den klager over). Jeg er sikker på at det også kan lade sig gøre uden, men ved desværre ikke lige hvilken kommando der skal til

Ah, men efter at have browse lidt rundt, kom jeg frem til dette:
cd /etc/X11/
og efterfølgende: sudo cp xorg.conf.failsafe xorg.conf

Altså en kopiering af xorg.conf.failsaf filen, som så skaber den manglende xorg.conf. Ikke desto mindre har det skabt den manglende fil.

Kan dette på nogen måde bruges?

Har officielt givet op. Det lader ikke til at optimus kort virker ordenligt med ubuntu... Så må man jo bruge Windows til HDMI osv.

Prøvede lige NVIDIA prime på en 13.10 med denne computer u31s med NVIDIA GT520.
Virkelig god performance, men stødte på denne bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-prime/+bug/1210077

Nu tilbage på Bumblebee (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bumblebee#Installation) med NVIDIA afkoblet og langt mindre strømforbrug.

Check. Vdpau virker iflg. Vdpauinfo og Nvidia settings.
Men nvidia-prime er desværre ikke stabil med ubuntu 13.10 jævnfør fejlen nævnt før...
